OWMA has provided comments to the Ministry supporting the basic framework of the draft battery regulation. As with other WDA programs, OWMA supports a transition to a regulatory framework under the RRCEA. The submission reinforces the need for a high recycling target and a battery collection system ensures a robust collection acquirement and a requirement that all collected materials are managed by producers irrespective of the management target.
